When a holiday weekend rolls around, you can expect to see stations running on skeleton crews.

Managers are off enjoying their barbecues and leaving the station with just barely enough staff to put a product on the air. Of course, they don’t want to dish out that time and a half holiday pay either.

At Sinclair’s KTUL (Tulsa) Sports Director TJ Eckert was tasked with anchoring both the newscast and the sportscast for the station.

That meant he had to toss to himself when transitioning from news to sports.
