Signing on in San Antonio

FTVLive has told you about the number of people headed to the exit at Sinclair’s WOAI in San Antonio.

Well, it appears we finally have someone coming in the door, instead of going out.

The station announced that they have hired Jonathan Martinez to co-anchor the evening and late newscasts at 5:00, 6:00, 6:30, and 10:00.

“Jonathan is a trusted anchor, and a genuinely kind person”, said Sinclair San Antonio News Director Mandi Mendoza. He is excited to get back to San Antonio and help our mission to truly be here and helpful to our viewers.”

Martinez comes from KPRC-TV, Houston’s NBC affiliate, in November. He’s also worked in Las Vegas, Northwest Arkansas, and here in San Antonio at KABB-TV.

He will anchor alongside Simone De Alba on the weekday newscasts.
