Signing Off in Boston
/Cox owned Boston 25 continues to see employees head for the exit and popular morning Anchor Sara Underwood is the latest to go that way.
Underwood announced on the newscast yesterday that she is leaving the station to spend more time with….oh hell, you know the rest.
“After months of thoughtful conversations with my family and very dear friends and station management, I have decided to make the tough decision to step away from this role as morning anchor, the full-time role here,” Underwood said during the broadcast.
Some inside the station believe that those talks with management were over a new contract and the two sides could not come to an agreement.
Cox has quickly turned from one of the best station groups to work for into one of the worst. The Cox stations were taken over by hedge fund Apollo and insiders say it is now all about cost-cutting.
Some believe that Underwood’s lowball offer from the station was part of that new Cox way of thinking.
