Chris Cuomo Still on CNN Program Schedule

One FTVLive reader thinks that CNN might be still looking to keep Chris Cuomo around. In fact, on one CNN outlet, he hasn’t even left yet.

Want another example of why CNN may not part ways with Chris Cuomo? This might be it.

CNN has a satellite radio channel called CNN Originals. It's an avenue for the network to play many of its hour-long documentaries. It features programs from a number of anchors reporters and hosts, ranging from Anthony Bourdain to Lisa Ling. One of the programs in rotation on CNN Originals is called Inside Evil. It's host is Chris Cuomo. And these programs, fronted by Chris cuomo, are still in rotation on this channel.

I'm sure there are executives at CNN who might be saying that this is just one channel with limited audience, so it will not hurt to keep these programs in rotation. But a standard operating procedure in the television industry is to yank any programming that might have some controversy surrounding its star. It's not done 100% of the time, but it's done much of the time. That's why Cuomo isn't on his program right now.

I don't count myself as an insider at CNN. I'm far from it. But if I ran CNN, and I was dealing with a controversy surrounding Chris Cuomo, I would want to make sure he's not seen on anything that has the letters c, n and n attached to it. Not until the controversy is resolved.

But I'm not Jeff Zucker. I'm grateful for that, by the way.
