Nope. It Doesn't Work That Way

A couple of days ago, FTVLive showed you a social media post from WFOR’s (Miami) Frances Wang in which she and her friends crammed in a booth to eat and pose for pictures for the gram.

We pointed out that no one was practicing the CDC guidelines of social distancing or wearing masks. It also sends a bad message to viewers.

After the FTVLive story, Wang edited the text that went along with the pictures to say this:

Here’s the deal. It makes no difference if masks were worn before the food was brought. You are having a “reunion” with old classmates and since this is a “reunion,” my guess is that means you are not together each and every day. So, you have no idea which of those friends is practicing the CDC guidelines or who they have been in contact with.

You are all sitting in a booth talking back and forth. Do you think because there is food on the table, the coronavirus is no longer present?

Sorry, it doesn’t work that way.

The fact that people can’t understand that is a bit concerning.

I would love to go have lunch with my friends. I haven’t done that since February and it is now fucking October.

It’s actions like this that is the reason that COVID continues to rage through this country, infecting 50,000 people a day and killing over 2,500 people.

Just to our north in Canada, they have already had a few days in which they have gone an entire day with reports of no one being infected. Meanwhile, we report 50,000 people.

Here is a picture from a retirement party this week at at KMTV in Omaha. I can assure you, standing arm in arm with your masks on your chin is not how it’s done.

I am scared of getting this virus and I am more scared for others (like those that high risk) to get the virus.

Actions like this show that many do not take the virus serious and that is why the U.S. is in the worst shape of any country in the world.

If everyone would wear a mask and practice social distancing, we could get this pandemic under control.

But clearly, if you can’t even get the people that work in TV newsrooms, and should be informed to do it, I’m not holding out much of a chance of that happening.

So sad.

I guess the only hope for this country is a vaccine. I hope it happens soon, I would love to have lunch with my friends again.
