Tribune’s KDVR (Denver) has parted ways with popular morning Meteorologist Greg Dutra and they have already hired his replacement.

The station has hired Brooks Garner as their new Weather Anchor.

Station insiders say that KDVR was in negotiations with Dutra and brought Garner in weeks ago for interview while Dutra was in negotiations. One source says the station then “lowballed” Dutra and then when he didn’t renew, they had Garner all ready to go.

Assistant News Director Linda Kicak ask the staff to keep this news off of social media until Dutra is done. We’ll keep it off social media, but we will put it on FTVLive.

Here is the internal email sent to the staff and obtained by FTVLive.

Hey All --

I want you all to know about an upcoming staffing change.

Greg Dutra will be leaving the stations for a new opportunity. We are sad to see Greg leave our team.

We will be posting this news on our website today. The link to the news is below. THe release introduces Greg's replacement Brooks Garner. Brooks will be here next week looking for housing and involved in a promo shoot so he and the team can hit the ground running in August.

I'd like to ask you not to post this on social until Greg's final week on the air. More info to come on Greg's last day and next position.

Thanks much--
Linda Kicak
