Some inside CBS might be who is running the news division?

Is it Susan Zirinsky, or Gayle King?

Word is that King flexed her muscle and got her co-anchor Norah O’Donnell pushed out at CBS This Morning.

Page Six writes that the new anchor lineup for “CBS This Morning” has been set and it doesn’t include O’Donnell because King — riding high off her big interview with R. Kelly — has demanded she be sent elsewhere.

“Norah is toxic,” a CBS insider said, explaining that the anchor is difficult to work with and is seen as having aided rumors about the impending exit of Jeff Glor, anchor of “CBS Evening News,” in her bid for his job.

The blood is so bad between the morning news co-hosts that King demanded O’Donnell be moved off the show as part of her recent contract negotiations, which kicked off after her now-infamous Kelly interview, the source said.

Is Gayle King becoming the Matt Lauer of CBS.

At his peak, Lauer was rumored to flex his muscle around the Today Show and he was the one that was responsible for getting Ann Curry kicked to the curb. After Curry’s tearful goodbye, Lauer’s star was tarnished in the minds of many viewers.

Could the same happen to King now that she seems to be publicly using her power at CBS?

As for O’Donnell it will be a soft landing. She is still expected to take over for Jeff Glor on CBS Evening News.

As for Page Six’s story that King pushed O’Donnell out? Zirinsky, says "this headline is offensive and 100 percent false."
