Sinclair Quietly Rebrands Circa

FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that Sinclair’s Circa was circling the drain and now according to an internal memo it is officially dead.

According to an internal memo, obtained by FTVLive, John Colucci, Sinclair’s Senior Director of Social Media says that Circa is now “TND.”

“TND” stands for “The National Desk” but it is not something that Sinclair will be promoting heavily. It appears that “TND” is more of just a placeholder as Sinclair gets rid of all references to the failed Circa.

Here is the internal memo obtained by FTVLive:

Hello Stations,

Today, @Circa is now known as @TND, "The National Desk." (The change is live on Facebook right now and soon will be on Twitter).

This isn't a new brand we'll be promoting heavily. It really is just a replacement to fully sunset the "Circa" brand. So there's no need to reference "The National Desk" specifically, or promote it outright at this time.

TND on Facebook will continue to provide copious crossposting opportunities. TND on Twitter will also offer many live feeds you can retweet/quote RT (or even copy/paste the video stream URL into your own Tweets to make it sort of look like Facebook crossposting!)

There will be more to come and expect from TND in the future potentially including aggregating winning content from our stations. It's exciting!

Thanks,
John, Manny and Mike
