NAACP Wants WLEX Staff to Undergo Training

The NAACP of Lexington recommends that the entire staff at WLEX undergo 10 weeks of racial bias training in wake of the Lee Cruse incident.

Cruse is currently suspended from the station this week after he declared that a racist DJ was now his “favorite” and then continued to support the guy and the racist photo he posted online.

The station continued to let Cruse anchor the morning newscast after the incident. After FTVLive posted a story about the incident, WLEX management decided to “further evaluate” the comments made by Cruse.

The station decided to suspend Cruse for this week.

In his apology, Cruse made excuses and said that he did not read his scripts prior to the show, something that he says he “never” does.

The local chapter of the NAACP now thinks the entire staff at WLEX should undergo training in regards to Cruse’s comments.
