Sinclair Names a New GM

Sinclair’s WGME in Portland, Maine has named a new General Manager at the station.

If you are thinking they bumped up a news person, you would be wrong.

Sinclair tapped their longtime sales manager Susan Walther to be the new GM of the station.

“Susan is no stranger to the Portland, Maine, market. She has been with Sinclair in Portland for almost 20 years. Her long history in television sales and deep connection to the community make her a great leader for our stations,” said Sinclair’s EVP/COO Steve Marks.

“I work with the best in the business,” said Walther. “I look forward to getting more deeply involved in the local community and helping to lead our team to even greater success.”

“I also look forward to making sure all the must runs the company sends down are placed prominently in our newscasts,” she could have added, but did not.

Walther has been with Sinclair for 19 years, serving as WGME’s GSM for the past nine years.
