We have not seen the clip, but it appears another Anchor has screwed up trying to say Martin Luther King’s name.
Nexstar’s WVLA (Baton Rouge) posted 3 tweets about the incident by Anchor Jeanne Burns on Saturday evening.
We do not know how Burns said Dr. King’s name, but judging by the tweets and recent history, we’ll guess that she said “Martin Luther coon.”
On Friday, FTVLive told you that KTVI (St. Louis) Anchor Kevin Steincross butchered King’s name and said the racial slur.
This all comes on the heels of WHEC Weatherman Jeremy Kappell, who uttered the slur earlier in the month.
Kappell was fired after his incident. It appears that both KTVI and WVLA are standing by their anchors and not taking any disciplinary action.
You have to wonder if all the press that Kappell got after uttering the slur on air has other anchors thinking about what he said?
Burns is the first female news Anchor to make the “mistake,” all the others have been white males.
