On Second Thought....

Yesterday, FTVLive told you that the Newseum in Washington, DC, was selling "Fake News" T-shirts in their gift shop. They are also selling a MAGA hat, which is a trademark of Donald Trump, the President that says that Journalists are an "enemy of the people."

After we posted the story and after a number of Journalists expressed their displeasure with the Newseum's choices in their gift shop, they put out this tweet:

They also put out a press release that is basically saying that the MAGA hat is staying. This despite the fact that Trump attacks the media on almost a daily basis.

Here's their release:

The Newseum has removed the "You Are Very Fake News" t-shirts from the gift shop and online. We made a mistake and we apologize. A free press is an essential part of our democracy and journalists are not the enemy of the people.

Questions have also been raised regarding other merchandise. As an organization that celebrates the rights of people from all political spectrums to express themselves freely, we’ve historically made all types of political merchandise available for our guests to purchase. That has included former and current presidential slogans and imagery and merchandise from all political parties. We continue to do so in celebration of freedom of speech.

I think they need to go back and re-read their own tweet. As Trump continues to call the media, "the enemy" we does the Newseum continue to help fund his war against us.

Just saying....
