If No One Saw It, Did it Happen?

Did this really happen?

KTNV in Las Vegas reported that a woman's advocacy group, which is calling for the firing of casino mogul Steve Wynn, flew a banner over the Vegas Strip that read "Steve Wynn is a Predator #FireHim".

Wynn is being called out for sexual misconduct a charge that he denies.

The group UltraViolet claimed that they flew the banner across the Las Vegas sky for several hours Wednesday.

They sent a press release to the station that included a picture of the banner.

But some wonder if the banner was really flown or not? In the station's story, the only picture they used of the banner being flown was from UltraViolet press release.

Despite the fact that the banner was supposedly flown around Vegas for a few hours, the station has no video of it.

The FAA claims that the banner was not flown and the report is false. “The group’s claim is false,” said Ian Gregor, an FAA spokesperson. “We did not approve any banner-towing flights in the Las Vegas Class B airspace today, and no aircraft violated the Class B airspace today.”

We're not saying it didn't happen, but it seems odd that the station would not have a single frame of this banner in the air. Don't you think?

Let's hope that this station did more than just read the press release and take it as fact.

Here's the station's report.
