Back on June 1st, FTVLive told you that WREG (Memphis) Anchor Richard Ransom was escorted from the station's building.

Later this month, Ransom will resurface across the street at WATN.

The Nexstar station announced that Ransom will handle the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. broadcasts and serve as managing editor for the station.

Ransom starts Today, but his first day on the air will be Sept. 25, the start of ABC's fall season of shows.

"I think he brings a wealth of experience and a great reputation in this market," said WATN GM Joe Denk, "That's what made him an attractive candidate."

Of course, Ransom's hiring means someone is getting demoted and that someone is Brandon Artiles.

Denk said Artiles, will "continue to anchor newscasts," moving to the CW 30 Memphis.

We're guessing he is not exactly thrilled with that move.
