Sheriff to Hold Presser on Maine Sexual Assault

A press conference has been called for Noon today, by the Oxford (Maine) County Sheriff's Department.

The S.O. says they will provide new information regarding an investigation into a sexual assault case.

This is the same case that former WSCH meteorologist Tom Johnston has been rumored to be a suspect.

Johnston was in the area at the time of the reported sexual assault and went missing a short time after the assault was reported to police.

No officials said that Johnston was a suspect, but the press release put out by the sheriff's office seem to indicate that he was.

Johnston was the only reported missing person that was reported in that area at the time.

Johnston's body was later found and his cause of death was ruled to be a suicide.

Chief Deputy Hart L. Daley said no further information will be release until the noon press conference Today.
