Tegna owned WHAS announced that they have hired Lisa Hutson as their new Anchor and multi-skilled journalist (does that mean she can juggle?).

For Huston the move back to Kentucky is a homecoming.

Huston was born a few hours south of Louisville in Murray, Kentucky, where her family still lives. She comes to WHAS from Waco, Tx.

In making the announcement, Linda Danna, President and General Manager of WHAS11, said, “I am delighted to welcome Lisa, a person who cares deeply for people and who brings a high level of compassion and empathy to her role that speaks to WHAS11’s legacy and enduring commitment to the community.” Really? Who talks like that?

“I am so thrilled to serve the city of Louisville and Southern Indiana and I’m excited to get to work telling the stories that matter to the people of this amazing community," says Hutson. Did she really say this or did the Creative Services Department make up that quote for her?

Anyway, she starts in January.
