Nexstar has reached an agreement to merge with Media General and although the deal has still not gotten government approval, it appears that Nexstar might already have their hand in the cookie jar.
FTVLive spoke with a person that was basically assured a job in news management at one of the Media General properties. But just as the person was expecting an offer, the deal was pulled off the table.
The rejected job applicant pushed the GM of the station as to why they didn't get the job when everything seemed to be a lock?
The applicant was told that a Nexstar executive nixed the deal and the job was never offered.
Now, how Nexstar can be involved in any hiring practices when the deal for them to merge with Media General has not been approved seems a bit odd and maybe even illegal.
