Scripps New Partnership

Scripps issued a press release that says that they have partnered with Ad Fontes Media.

Never heard of Ad Fontes Media?

Neither had I.

It seems that Ad Fontes Media is a tech company that rates the news for bias and reliability.

Now, Scripps’ new partner will “audit” Scripps News to make sure that they aren’t showing bias in their reporting.

A couple of things….

First off, if you “partner” with the company that is supposedly watching over you, how fair Is that?

Do you pay your partner?

And, lastly…. shouldn’t properly trained Journalists be able to tell if a story is biased? Isn’t that what the editorial process at a TV station is in place to do?

The reason each story is supposed to be seen by a number of eyes before it ever makes air.

If a biased story does make air, you fire those in the editorial process and hire people who can do the job correctly.

You should not have to hire an outside company to tell you if your news product is biased.

Just saying…
