Off the Weekends in SoFlo

Roxanne Vargas has been anchoring the weekend mornings for NBC O&O WTVJ in Miami. 

But now, Vargas is coming off the weekend shift, but she'll still have to set her alarm. 

The station announced that Vargas is moving to weekday mornings at WTVJ. 

Vargas will co-anchor NBC6 Today newscasts alongside Sheli Muñiz, meteorologist Adam Berg and traffic reporter Kelly Blanco. 

“I love South Florida and I’m humbled by the opportunity to continue to serve my community alongside a terrific team of professionals,” Vargas said in a release issued Tuesday. “Informing our viewers is one of the greatest privileges of my life and one I take very seriously.”

Sources tell FTVLive that Vargas will be sliding into the spot left open when the station decided not to renew the contract of Anchor Eric Harryman.
