New News Sets are a-coming

With the Feb. book right around the corner, many stations are hoping to grab viewers attention with new news sets. 

Baltimore Fox affiliate WBFF (Sinclair), DC CBS affiliate WUSA (TEGNA), and Memphis NBC affiliate WMC (Raycom) have moved their newscasts to temporary set locations, while their main news sets undergo renovation.

WBFF retires its nearly 10-year-old set that coincided with their HD debut in June 2008.  Sinclair has a strong relationship with Devlin Design Group, and we could see WBFF opting for Devlin yet again.

WUSA retires its nearly 13-year-old set that coincided with their HD debut in May 2005.  We've noticed other TEGNA stations (like KING, KUSA, WHAS, KENS, and KSDK) getting similar looking sets by Jack Morton PDG that could easily be called the "TEGNA look".  It'll be interesting to see whether WUSA gets a set similar to its sister stations.

WMC is also getting a set makeover.  We've noticed other Raycom stations (like WBTV, WWBT, WVUE, and WAVE) getting similar looking sets by FX Design Group that could easily be called the "Raycom look".  Like the TEGNA look, it'll be interesting to see whether WMC gets a set similar to its sister stations.
