Moving to DC

The revolving door at WSYX in Columbus continues to turn, but at least this latest departure is staying within the company.

WJLA in DC has announced that they have hired Meteorologist Bill Kelly to be their new Chief Met in DC.

Both stations are owned by Sinclair.

“Bill is truly one of the best, most informative TV meteorologists in America,” said ABC7 Director of News Mitch Jacob. “He will be a terrific addition to our robust StormWatch7 Weather Team.”

“The StormWatch7 team has a national reputation for exceptional forecasting, and I am humbled and grateful to be joining their ranks, “said Bill Kelly. “Weather is my absolute passion, and I feel so incredibly lucky to now get to forecast it in our nation’s capital.”

Plus, he might bump into Boris Epshteyn in the men's room and you know what a thrill that would be.

Kelly starts in DC in October.
