Reporter Sues Station for Discrimination

A Reporter in Macon, GA has filed a lawsuit against her station after she says she was passed over for an Anchor job a number of times.

Karlisha Booze filed the lawsuit against WMGT, seeking back pay, to be hired as an anchor, compensation for mental and emotional suffering and other damages.

In the lawsuit, Booze says that a Hispanic woman and two white men were hired as anchors between 2013 and 2016, even though they had less experience in the news industry.

She also says a former sales consultant also was allowed to work as a fill-in anchor for the station’s 41Today show despite having no news experience.

She alleges that the anchor positions weren’t formally announced or posted so employees could be aware of the openings.

The station station declined comment on the complaint.

Now look, getting passed over by a Hispanic woman and two white guys... I totally get that.

But, when you get passed over for some joker in the sales department. I say SUE the bastards!

Just saying....
