Trump Threatened to Sue USGA

The United States Golf Association is back in the news and it's going to be a controversial weekend in New Jersey.

The Women's US Open starts tomorrow and it is going to be played on a golf course owned by President Trump.

The event, which is the crown jewel for women's golf will be played at  Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster.

Many of the players on the LPGA Tour are not happy about it and either is the USGA. Sources say that at one point the USGA wanted to move the event, but Trump reportedly threatened to sue the USGA if they did.

"We can't get out of this," USGA's executive director Mike Davis told the committee, according to the source. "He's going to sue us."

It put the USGA in a bad situation of having an event that features the top women golfers in the world, being played at a course that is owned by a man that looks as women has just objects.

LPGA player Brittany Lincicome said that she hoped that Trump did not show up at the event and  Lincicome immediately  caught heat for her comments.

But, other LPGA players feel the same way and hope that Trump stays away.

But, there will be cameras and golf, so how well do you think that will work out?

It's more than likely that Trump will be there and that will take the focus off of the golfers and put it squarely on him.

The US Open will be aired on Fox, which means if Trump does show, you know he will get plenty of air time.
