Signing Off in Salt Lake

A longtime Political Reporter at Sinclair's KUTV in Salt Lake City is calling it quits.

After 36 years, Rod Decker will retire in mid-September.

The flamboyant Decker — 75 and known for his prolific output and high-volume reporting style — made his decision known earlier this week.

Decker was raised in Salt Lake City and went to school at the University of Utah.

Prior to joining KUTV in 1980, Decker worked as a columnist for the Deseret News.

Not often you can spend your entire life in one market, but Rod Decker pulled it off.
