Even though FTVLive reported it weeks ago, you can now finish this story with; it's official.
The sheriff of Oxford County, Maine says WCSH-TV meteorologist Tom Johnston would have been charged with sexual assault. The sheriff says Johnston was the only suspect in the case and because of that, he thinks that's what prompted Johnston to kill himself.
Johnston was identified as the suspect by the victim and several witnesses, according to the sheriff.
Johnston's girlfriend initially reported him missing. At the same time, sheriff's deputies were taking the report of a sexual assault. Johnston leaves behind three children.
