When Matt "Bag of Sex Toys" Lauer was fired from the Today Show for inappropriate sexual misconduct, Hoda Kotb got the unenviable task of sitting in Lauer's chair after he was sacked.

Since Lauer's firing, the Today Show has seen strong ratings with Kotb in the chair and they aren't going to make any changes just yet.

Kotb will still be sitting in Matt Lauer's old seta this morning and into the foreseeable future.

NBC was stuck with no back up plan when Lauer was fired. There was no heir apparent for Lauer waiting in the wings, so NBC had to wing it when they whacked Matt.

It might turn out that their heir apparent to Lauer might have been sitting next to Kathie Lee the entire time.

Hoda Kotb is well liked, very good at her job and seems to be handling a very difficult gig very well.

Maybe NBC should stop looking for Lauer's replacement and start looking for Kotb's replacement for the 10AM hour.
