Bad Times in Huntsville

FTVLive told you that Raycom owned WAFF in Huntsville had parted ways with Anchor Anchor Mark Thornhill, but the station would not say why Thornhill was gone.

Sources tell FTVLIve that Thornhill was fired in the wake of some allegations, but the station will not comment and we cannot confirm that.

Station insiders tell FTVLive that Thornhill's leaving is just another example of the station being run into the ground by News Director Bob Morford.

One station staffer tells FTVLive that under Morford, " morale is at an all time low."

Many people have either quit or been fired since Morford took charge.

"Morford has closed the station’s Bureau in Decatur, and the Shoals bureau in Florence remains unstaffed. Morford has told staffers that he’s working to fill the position, though no candidate has been in the building for several months," one station insider tells FTVLive.

A number of people have left the station or been fired and Morford has been very slow to fill their positions.

"WAFF General manager Dave Thomason has had several complaints about Morford but nothing’s been done," a staffer tells FTVLive.
