WPVI in Philly has cut ties with radio sportscaster Mike Missanelli after comments.

Missanelli appeared on WPVI's weekly sports show called Sports Sunday.

While talking about ESPN's play by play announcer Beth Mowins, Missanelli made the statement that it was “unnatural” for a female broadcaster to call an NFL game.

On his radio program, Missanelli admitted he was fired from his weekly spot on WPVI.

“Now I have nobody to blame but myself,” Missanelli said, citing the fact that 6abc is owned by Disney, which also owns ESPN. “Did I think it was a harsh result? Yeah, I do think it was a harsh result.”

WPVI declined to comment.
