A legendary Cleveland Anchor is taking a small step towards retirement....
Romona Robinson told co-workers that she is leaving WOIO's 11PM newscast later this month.
Robinson, the first African American woman to anchor a nightly newscast in Cleveland will continue doing the 4&6PM newscast, but is coming off the late news.
The Raycom station has been budget chopping and sources say that along with Robinson's reduced Anchor schedule, she will also get a reduction in pay.
The days of the longtime high priced Anchor are becoming very rare in this business.
This appears to be another example of the changing of the guard to younger and cheaper talent.
