Evening Wood

Starting tomorrow, viewers in Grand Rapids can get some evening WOOD.

WOOD-TV says they are launching a new 7PM newscast this week.

The station says that Marlee Ginter will anchor the weeknight newscast, which will be dedicated to delivering the day’s top headlines from across West Michigan, trending topics that are taking over the internet, and interactive segments that will have you talking.

“On top of the big stories of the day, the newscast will give us an opportunity to take a deeper look into issues impacting our communities,” explained 24 Hour News 8 News Director Dan Boers. “It will be at a time of day that is more convenient for some viewers who are just getting home from work or after-school activities.”

“24 Hour News 8 is dedicated to bringing viewers more news at a time of day that is convenient for viewers to access breaking news, weather and investigative reports throughout the day,” said WOOD TV8 General Manager Diane Kniowski. “It is just another way we serve our community.”

The debut of 24 Hour News 8 at 7 p.m. will take place at the WOOD TV8 ArtPrize studio at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. The newscast will shift to the WOOD TV8 studio starting Oct. 10.
