Struggling Atlanta Station Hires Twice Arrested Anchor

WGCL in Atlanta has hired Amanda Davis as the stations new morning Anchor.

Davis spent 26 years at WAGA in Atlanta and left the station after a DUI arrest.

Then, WGCL hired Davis to do commentaries on the station, but just before her first commentary aired, she was arrested for DUI a second time.

Now, WGCL has hired Davis to co-anchor alongside Bobby Kaple on the mornings, starting January 2nd.

“I’m very pleased that Amanda Davis will be bringing three decades of experience reporting on the major news stories in Atlanta to CBS46.  Her passion for local news is unmatched,” said CBS46 News Director Frank Volpicella.
“I'm excited about the opportunity CBS46 has opened up for me, allowing me to join a stellar team of broadcasters on the morning show.  It's a privilege and a blessing to be able to start the New Year with Atlanta area viewers, providing them with the news, weather and traffic to get the day started.  It's going to be great in the mornings on CBS46,” said Davis.
