Just asking.....

Now that the CNN bosses (i.e. Jeff Zucker) is finally back from his long holiday break, how long before the network announces what FTVLive FIRST reported?

Back on December 23rd, FTVLive broke the EXCLUSIVE story that Alisyn Camerota will be replacing Kate Bolduan on CNN's New Day.

We expect that CNN will announce this news in the next week to two.

No matter when they announce it, we will guarantee that it is happening.

Let's just wait and see how long it takes for CNN to confirm our report.

Emotional: NFL Network's Rich Eisen Reports that Stuart Scott had Died

For and TV Anchor to report on a death it isn't easy...it's much much harder when you are reporting the death of a very good friend.

That's the job that Rich Eisen had yesterday, reporting the death of his friend ESPN Anchor Stuart Scott. Eisen now works for the NFL Network, but worked with Scott at ESPN.

It was emotional to say the least:

RIP Stuart Scott! Make sure to Like & Subscribe! Subscribe: http://goo.gl/NyVi4O

Note: Story has been corrected from an earlier version.

2nd Note Jan 6th: This story was corrected an hour after it was posted, with a note saying it was corrected. Despite what some lame loser website claims that steals stuff from us on almost a daily basis.

Sick Outs Happening at Sinclair Station?

When FTVLive broke the news that WBFF had fired Reporter Melinda Roeder and a longtime Photographer over the misleadingly edited  "kill a cop: story, Sinclair brass was hoping that would be the end of the controversy.

It is not.

Sources tell FTVLive that Roeder, as well as a Producer at the station have saved all of the emails back + forth between them and News Director Mike Tomko on the day that story ran.

As FTVLive FIRST reported, insiders claim that it was Tomko who told Roeder to do the story and pointed her to the questionable video.

Many inside the station feel that Roeder and the Photog wear being used as nothing more than scapegoats and staffers are pissed.

"The News Director has lost all control and respect in the newsroom," says a source to FTVLive.

Word is that staff has been calling in sick as part of a protest as to what happened.

One source tells FTVLive that there is talk about a mass sick out by the station's Photographers, to protest the firing of one of their own.

It is clear that all is not right at Sinclair's flagship station and it just might be time for a change in news management.

Former TV Anchor now Cooking up Stories

Former Las Vegas Anchor and San Francisco Reporter, Lorraine Blanco Moss has given up the microphone for a spatula and she couldn't be happier.

Blanco Moss was a Reporter at KTVU, when her husband landed a radio job at ESPN 1100 in Las Vegas.

“When Mitch had the opportunity to come back to Vegas and work as the lead host at ESPN 1100, he asked me what I would do if money was not an object and I could do anything?

“I didn’t hesitate, ‘I’d go to culinary school, become a chef,’ ” she said.

Her husband’s response: “Then we should look into culinary school.”

Starting in the fall of 2013, she jumped from the pressure cooker world of television to the frying pan.

After relocating from the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, she enrolled in the College of Southern Nevada to pursue the culinary arts.

And she hasn't looked back.

“I just got tired of the upsetting stories, standing on the side of the road near body bags, investigating missing children and watching family homes burn to the ground,” she said.

Her new world is “so much better than entering someone’s life in his or her worst moment and doing little to make the situation any better; that’s how I felt in the news business.”

I love the science of food, exploring cultures throught international recipes, and I’m a Food Network junkie.”

She added, “It gives me goosebumps when people get that look and make that sound when you make something delicious. Now I get to tell my story with food.”

Indianapolis Anchor has a Drinking Problem Live on Air

Newly independent WISH (ok they're a CW affiliate, which doesn't really count) Anchors Kylie Conway and Lauren Lowrey were doing a story about a study on sparkling wine hangovers, Kylie Conway grabbed what she thought was an empty Champagne bottle for a prop.

Only, it wasn’t empty. She spilled the wine on her and her co-anchor and all over the set.

Let's go to the video:

Bumped Up in Buffalo

One Buffalo Anchor is starting off the new year with a promotion.

WIVB Anchor Nalina Shapiro has been bumped up the food chain and will now anchor the station's 5:30 p.m. newscast weekdays and the 10 p.m. newscast on sister station WNLO.

Shapiro replacing Anchor Diana Fairbanks, who left the station more than six months ago to return to Traverse City for a PR job.

Shapiro arrived at WIVB right out of Franklin Pierce College. The Lin station has been cutting staff and hiring cheap for quite some time.

She tweeted the news of her promotion to her fans:

ESPN's Stuart Scott Dead at Age 49

ESPN Anchor Stuart Scott lost his battle with cancer this morning, when he passed away at the age of 49.

And although he's gone, Scott will live on on the walls of ESPN.

One of features of the new ESPN studio in Bristol is a wall of catchphrases made famous by on-air talent over the years. An amazing nine of them belong to one man -- from his signature "Boo-Yah!" to "As cool as the other side of the pillow" to "He must be the bus driver cuz he was takin' him to school."

The guy stood out in a field of Sports Anchors that were trying their best to stand out.

Here is how ESPN remembered him this morning.

I Know Nothing!

Fox News Anchor and FTVLive top 8 TV News person of 2014 Greta Van Susteren is doing her best Sgt. Schultz (look it up kids) when it comes to the retans dispute between Fox News and DISH Network.

Van Susteren is getting asked in email and on social media about the dispute, so she took to social media to tell you what she knows.

Which is not much.

Give credit to Greta for not pulling a Jim "American Bald Ego Cantore and trying to scare people and say that Fox News saves lives.

This is why Greta makes our top 8 list.

Fired WBFF Reporter: The Story Came from Management

FTVLive FIRST reported the news about the firings and suspensions that went down at Sinclair's WBFF after the station aired a   story that was misleadingly edited to make it sound like protesters were calling on people to “kill a cop.”

As FTVLive FIRST told you, WBFF Reporter Melinda Roeder was fired along with a station Photographer last week.

Insiders told FTVLive that the story idea came directly from News Director Mike Tomko.  "It was found by him, assigned by him and ultimately proofed by him," says a station insider to FTVLive.

Insiders tell FTVLive that Tomko did get a 1 day suspension and a Producer who texted the Tomko that night saying he was uncomfortable with the story got suspended 2 days.

So, it appears that the ND got a slap on the wrist while others we penalized much more harshly.

Now, fired Reporter Melinda Roeder is speaking out and confirming that the story idea came from management.

In an email to the website, ifyouonlynews.com, Roeder wrote:

Thank you for reaching out. I can confirm that I have been terminated from my employment with Sinclair Broadcasting under a clause in my contract that allows them to fire me ‘without cause.’ I can also confirm that the story idea and video originated with a manager who makes all content decisions. I have received a great deal of support from my coworkers, all of whom know the truth behind the circumstances, and I appreciate them very much. Many have reached out to me over the last two days. I am not a reckless reporter. I have earned several awards throughout my career because of my professionalism. . . .

Sources tell FTVLive that both Roeder and the Photographer have talked to attorneys.

Signing On the News Indianapolis

News Year's Day marked WTTV's first day doing news as a CBS affiliate in Indianapolis.

WTTV kicked off their new newscast with the morning news on New Year's Day and the station got off to a strong start. The newscast had few hiccups and it looked like they have been in the news game for years.

Starting yesterday, LIN owned WISH lost the CBS affiliation and is now working as an independent.

WISH's website said that they be streaming their newscasts.  When FTVLive checked in, The station's streaming schedule reads “News 8 Daybreak 4:30 to 8 a.m.” but the stream was parked on the “we’ll be right back” graphic.

Not exactly a great start for the indy station.
