You Look Familiar....

An old face is returning to WTIC FOX Connecticut....

Jennifer Bernstein who was the station's first true multimedia journalist is coming back to Fox CT.

Bernstein left the station in 2012 for KYW in Philly.  Now she's headed back to her old station where she will anchor FOX CT News at 4, and will cover Connecticut politics as well as co-anchor “The Real Story” with Al Terzi.

“We are thrilled Jenn is rejoining our team. As a Connecticut native, she knows the state well and I’m sure our viewers will be happy to know such a talented journalist and multimedia innovator is back in our Newsroom,” FOX CT News Director Coleen Marren said.

Bernstein starts back at her old station on August 4th.

Expanding the News in Nashville

More news expansion is happening and this time it's in the music city.

Starting Aug. 4, WZTV FOX 17 is adding an hour of local news programming to its daily schedule, the station announced this week.

FOX 17’s morning show, “FOX 17 This Morning,” will begin at 4:30 a.m. and run until 9 a.m. Previously, the show started at 5 a.m.

The station will also add a half-hour 5:30 p.m. local news segment. It will become the only major local news station to broadcast local news programming at 5:30 p.m. WSMV-TV, WTVF-TV and WKRN-TV air NBC, CBS and ABC network news, respectively, at that time.

According to WZTV News director Bryan McGruder, the expanded schedule will provide more convenience for viewers who wake up earlier or have less time in their schedules.

“We intend to be there for them with this expanded news time,” he said.

Now that His Pastor Knows, you can know as well

KSDK (St. Louis) Multimedia Journalist Tracy Clemons told his Pastor that he was leaving the St. Louis station and now he is allowed to tell everyone else.

Clemons announced on his Facebook page that he is headed to Houston's KTRK.

"Now that my pastor knows, I can say publicly on social media that my last day at KSDK is Friday," Clemons posted on Facebook Monday. "My family and I are relocating to Houston, Texas. I've accepted a position at the ABC affiliate, KTRK."

Not sure why his Pastor had to know before everyone else, but hey, to each his own...right?

Clemons has been with the Gannett station since August 2012.

No word on a start date in Houston.

On Second Thought, it was a Truck Fart

You may recall back on July 15th, when WVVA (Beckley, WV) Reporter Annie Moore claimed she was shot at while covering the scene of a homicide.

Moore said she was shooting video, someone drove by and fired a shot at her.

It was big news in the tiny market.

Well the cops have finished their investigation and have determined that "the shot" was really just the truck's muffler backfiring.

“It’s not the first time a backfire has been mistaken for a gunshot; they sound similar in nature,” Detective Cpl. Morgan Bragg said.

“I’m glad this is resolved,” she said. “I’m sorry it got so much attention. I’m glad it’s over.”

Although we're betting the story is still on her resume tape.

Just saying....

Norah O'Donnell's Uncomfortable David Letterman Interview

After watching last night's David Letterman interview with CBS Morning Anchor Norah O'Donnell, we're guessing she might be asking, "who's the idiot that booked me on that show?" around CBS Broadcast Center this morning.

It was a bit uncomfortable and awkward to watch.

First, Letterman introduced Norah as Zorah and after some brief chit chat he asked her what the difference was between the Malaysian Jet being shot down and the US Navy shooting down the Iranian passenger jet in 1988. Letterman said to her the US didn't even apologize, you could see O'Donnell was feeling uncomfortable as the questions came.

And on top of that, she had a minor wardrobe malfunction.

Let's go to the video:

Rob Morrison Puts Home on the Market

Screen Shot 2014-07-22 at 5.50.59 AM.png

Former WCBS Anchor Rob Morrison has put his 5 bedroom home in Darien, CT on the market.

Morrison left WCBS after being arrested for by police for choking his wife, CBS Moneywatch Anchor Ashley Morrison.

While Rob is still working his case through the court system, Ashely has left the northeast for South Florida.

As FTVLive told you, while Morrison was in court last week, Ashley was posting bikini selfies poolside in Miami.

The house is 5 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and is listed for $1,525,000.

If only the walls could talk.

Reporter Admits to Mistake says He's Sorry

It was a boneheaded move for sure, but give Sky News Reporter Colin Brazier credit for admitting to the mistake and saying he was sorry.

Brazier caught a lot of well deserved heat, after he started rummaging through a victim's suitcase at the crash scene of flight MH17.

In this morning's Guardian Newspaper, Brazier writes a piece saying what he did was wrong.

He writes, "I got things wrong. If there was someone to apologize to in person, I would. While presenting Sky's lunchtime coverage of the flight MH17 disaster, I stooped down to look at a piece of debris. It was a child's suitcase. I put my hand inside and lifted up a water bottle and a set of keys. As I did so my mental circuit-breaker finally engaged and I apologized instantly on-air for what I was doing.

Within minutes there was outrage on Twitter. Within hours the story had gone viral. I was accused of rummaging through personal belongings, contaminating a crime scene, desecrating a sacred site.

Certainly it was a serious error of judgement. I acknowledged that and so did Sky. My bosses issued an apology by tea-time. They were supportive and keen to stress that they understood the context of the gaffe."

It was a stupid move for sure, but at least he admits so much.

And for that we give him credit.

Time Warner Changes Bylaws to Keep Murdoch away

Time Warner is changing the rules to try and keep Rupert Murdoch from buying the company.

FTVLive told you last week that TW knocked back a $80 billion offer from Murdoch and now TW has changed its bylaws in a move designed to block a potential hostile takeover.

The Financial Times reports that Under the new bylaws, Time Warner’s board led by Jeff Bewkes can be called to a special meeting by shareholders owning 15 per cent. The amendment removes shareholders’ ability to combine their holdings to reach the 15 per cent threshold to call such a meeting.

Stay tuned as to how Murdoch will respond.

Behar will Be Watching 'The View' this Fall

You can count Joy Behar as one of those that will be watching the revamped 'The View' when it hits the air in the fall.

Behar thinks the dramatic shake-up at “The View” — including the axing of Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy — will help boost her old show’s ratings.

“I think it’s good for ‘The View’…It’s must-see TV in the fall, for sure,” Behar told us at Guild Hall in East Hampton on Saturday.

The comic added she’ll be tuning in “for a while” herself to see how it pans out.

“I don’t know who they’re going to get, but [there’s] a rumor it’s going to be conservatives,” she added. “It will be more contentious…but it will be more interesting to watch.”

Tampa Station names New GM

Media General's WFLA in Tampa has named the next GM of the station.

Starting August 1st, Andy Alford will be the station's General Manager.

He comes to the station from Young Broadcastings WTEN in Albany, NY.

Let's go to the obligatory soundbite made up by the PR department:

“This is a very exciting opportunity and I look forward to working with the talented group of broadcast professionals at WFLA,” Alford supposedly said.

Like We Said......

Today ABC announced that Paula Faris is replacing the departing Bianna Golodryga as the news anchor on the weekend edition of "Good Morning America."

ABC News said Monday that Faris will start Aug. 8. The "World News Now" anchor joined the network in 2012 from the NBC affiliate in Chicago, and was recently given exposure as ABC News' reporter at the World Cup.

Golodryga is leaving ABC News to join Yahoo.

ABC announced the news today, but it seems like I already knew this information.

OH!That's right! FTVLive FIRST reported that news last week.

Carry on.

Will just sit over here and act real smug.
