Anchor Shake Up at NBC San Diego

SoCal sources tell FTVLive that KNSD NBC San Diego ​Noon Anchor Mari Payton (pictured) is being bumped down to the reporter ranks.

Word is that Afternoon/Evening Anchor Christine Haas is replacing her.

Haas currently anchors the 4pm and 5pm newscats and will be adding the Noon show starting on Monday.

Our source claims that low ratings are the reason for the change. 

Fox Twin Cities Debuts new News Set

KMSP Fox 9 in Minneapolis took the wraps off a new news set and it looks amazing.​

The station set up a time lapse camera and you can watch the old set being torn down and the new one rising from the ashes.​

The set was designed by the Devlin Design Group.​

Ann Curry has Been Ostracized from NBC News

The NY Times Brian Stelter has a book coming out about the Network Morning shows and the Ann Curry Debacle  ​at NBC.

Today the Times has a long excerpt from the book.​

Talking about Curry being booted from Today, Stelter writes Curry was now NBC’s “national and international correspondent” and the anchor at large for “Today,” but these titles seemed honorary. Curry had appeared on “Today” only a handful of times since her ouster. She had no role in NBC’s coverage of election night or Inauguration Day. She taped a few stories for “Rock Center,” the prime-time newsmagazine show, but as she explained on Twitter, her bosses kept rescheduling them. Curry had moved to an office on the 27th floor of 30 Rock, far from her NBC News bosses on the third floor. On this morning, she was at work on a short “NBC Nightly News” segment about the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s death. It would be only her sixth appearance on the network all year.

A new video surfaces of the bombs going off at the Boston Marathon. Although you don't see the explosion, the sound gives you a good idea just how big it was. ​

"Running with Stories that are not Perfectly Sourced"

NBC News Terrorism Expert Michael Leiter was asked why all the conflicting reports i.e. Why did CNN screw up?

He blamed it on reporters "Running with Stories that are not Perfectly Sourced"

Here's what he said about the wrong reports of an arrest that was made:​

Was CNN Wrong?! Updated -Yes they Were!

CNN has been going on and on saying that an arrest has been made in the Boston Marathon Bombings.​

John King has been on the air reporting saying that his sources confirm that an arrest was made.​

While CNN was reporting and arrest, a number of other media outlets (NBC, ABC) were reporting no arrests were made. 

While CNN was still going live from the scene, King stepped out of frame and could be heard talking on his phone.​

It was obvious that he was asked if his info was solid? King could be heard "My source confirms it, Fran's (Townsend) sources confirms...but I'll double back....I'll double back."

Shortly after that call CNN started backpedaling on air. They reported that they could have a suspect in custody, but not an been officially arrested. 

Then Former FBI Asst. Director Tom Fuentes went on the network and said his sources tell him that "no arrest have been made" and that at this point they don't even have the suspects name. ​

If CNN was this wrong with their initial reports of an arrest, it could be a huge black eye to the new Jeff Zucker regime. ​

Update: John King has returned to the air to say that there is "no arrest."

Arrest has been Made or is About to be Made

Depending on which media outlet you believe either an arrest has been made in the Boston Marathon Bombing.... or an arrest is going to be made at anytime.​

CNN's John King appears to be the first to report that investigators have a suspect.​

Some media are reporting that are suspect ​is in custody, while others are saying the arrest is "imminent."

The Tweet above shows that WCVB is saying both things. So they are half wrong and half right at the same time.​
