Tacking on More News in Savannah

Starting Monday, one Georgia station is expanding their news line-up.

WJCL, the Hearst Television owned, ABC affiliate in Savannah is launching a new half-hour weeknight newscast at 7:00 p.m.

WJCL 22 News at 7:00 will be anchored by Georgia native Cassady Lance and Meghan Schiller, an experienced Lowcountry journalist (I know that not a dig, but calling someone "an experienced Lowcountry journalist" sure sounds like it).

So why are they doing it?

Because, the station says that this expansion will allow the WJCL 22 News team to deliver a newscast at a time more convenient for the viewers’ busy lifestyles.

You know, because no one is busy at 7PM.

“WJCL 22 is providing a new option for our viewers to watch our news at the time they are available,” said Timothy J. Morrissey, WJCL President and General Manager.

How does he know?
