Orlando Anchor to Run for Office

Keith Landry signed off from WOFL in Orlando on Friday and now he's headed to the dark side.

He's going into politics.

Landry has announced that he has entered the race to replace retiring Orange County Comptroller Martha Haynie.

“I pledge that I will work hard to prevent government corruption, wasteful spending and any corporate tax incentive deals which do not treat our taxpayers fairly,” Landry said in a statement. “The comptroller’s team provides important checks and balances on local government spending. If you live in Orange County, I will be your money watchdog.”

After nearly 14 years working at WOFL, Landry signed off on Friday. He has worked in TV news for almost 26 years, with prior stops in Carbondale, Ill.; Lawton, Okla.; Boise, Idaho; Columbia, S.C.; and Saginaw, Mich.
