David Gregory Inks Deal with CNN

Former Meet The Press moderator David Gregory is headed back to his old boss at CNN.

CNN announced that Gregory officially started in his new role on this morning at CNN.  This reunites Gregory with Jeff Zucker his former boss at NBC.

"He will primarily appear on 'New Day," according to an internal memo sent to CNN staffers.

Gregory spent about 20 years at NBC News in a variety of roles, including White House correspondent, MSNBC anchor, and "Today" show substitute host.

A CNN story on Gregory's hiring says, "He succeeded Tim Russert as the moderator of "Meet the Press" and led the storied Sunday morning program for six years."

What the CNN story did not say, was that Gregory led Meet the Press right into the ground, tanking the show's ratings. NBC eventually dumped Gregory and MTP has rebounded in the ratings.
