Memphis Anchor is Out the Door

WMC Weekend Anchor Ben Watson had been off the air and not at work for the past two weeks. Everyone in the newsroom figured that Watson was gone from the station, but WMC management said nothing.
Watson's bio does remain on the WMC website (you know, until they read this story).
Finally, News Director Tammy Phillips put out an internal memo, obtained by FTVLive, confirming what everyone already figured out.
Here is her memo:
As some of you have heard, Ben Watson is no longer on staff. I know some of you may have heard the news last week… and for that I am really sorry. I had hoped to make the announcement myself.
Suffice it to say – Ben will be missed and we wish him well as he moves to the next chapter in his career. I would like to thank Ben for his time at WMC Action News 5.
