Pervert Weatherman to Plead Guilty to Fraud

Convicted sex offender and former WPTV Weatherman Rob Lopicola was expected to plead guilty to fraud charges today in a federal court.

Gossip Extra reports that the hearing, however, was postponed to April 9 because of spring break vacations in the judiciary.

Lopicola, who was facing 20 years in a prison if he went to trial, is still expected to tell a judge that he conspired with others to defraud hundreds of owners of vacation timeshares to the tune of $14.5 million.

Lopicola, is serving a 56-month sentence for sex with underage boys, was transferred from his Miami area prison to a federal jail in East St. Louis, Ill., to stand trial.

The former hurricane specialist is accused of making calls to timeshare owners for a telemarketing scam based in West Palm Beach and Illinois.

The indictment shows Lopicola, who was fired by WPTV in 2008 after his taste for young men boiled to the surface, called timeshare owners throughout North America through most of 2009 and asked them for $1,000 each to handle sales that didn’t exist.

Lopicola is likely to start serving the sentence for his guilty plea after he’s done with the Florida sex conviction, sometime in November 2016.
