Jon Stewart to Step Down from The Daily Show

While the news was breaking that "real" News Anchor Brian Williams was going bye bye. "Fake" News Anchor Jon Stewart is also signing off.

After 17 years, Stewart told his studio audience that he will step down later this year.

“Seventeen years is the longest I’ve ever in my life held a job — by 16 years and 5 months,” the comedian said. “In my heart, I know that it is time for someone else to have that opportunity.”

“This show doesn’t deserve an even slightly restless host, and neither do you,” he went on.

Sources said discussions were under way to determine when Stewart would leave, with September a possibility, to coincide with the start of the fall TV season.

Which would be just about the time Brian Williams is set to return to NBC.

It will be an interesting time to say the least.
