Word out of SoCal is that KNBC has parted ways with Investigative Reporter Ana Garcia.

The station launched “Get Garcia, Get Results”  in April 2012. It was a consumer news segment which exposes fraud, corruption and exploitation.

Garcia's bio is still posted on the website, but she is no longer with the station.

Here is the internal memo that was sent to the staff yesterday:

Subject: Ana Garcia

Team: Today is Ana Garcia’s last day at NBC4. Ana spent more than a decade at the station, working as anchor of the Midday and 6p newscast as well as an investigative reporter. Most recently Ana lead [sic] the Get Garcia consumer franchise.

Ana's reports have made a difference in people's lives and in Southern California. Some of her reports have changed laws on the federal, state andlocal level. Most recently the City of Los Angeles passed a valet law as a result of her hidden camera investigations.

Ana's won numerous awards during her time here including 6 Emmy's and was just nominated for two more last week.

Many of us also know Ana for her commitment to the community. Her charity work has always been a big part of Ana's life.

Ana has a lot to be proud of during her time here at NBC4.

We wish her the very best in her future endeavors.
