It looks like all the Dallas stations will be spitting out those "We are Number 1" promos. Each station can claim a victory....of course each station can claim loses as well, but we doubt you will see those promos.

The May sweeps ratings period ended last week with four Dallas-Fort Worth stations winning at least one time slot.

WFAA-TV (Channel 8) was the leader in total viewers and ratings points at 10 p.m., according to measurements taken by Nielsen Media Research. Channel 8’s evening newscast averaged 219,010 total viewers, followed by KTVT-TV (Channel 11) with 202,670, KDFW-TV (Channel 4) with 138,340 and KXAS-TV (Channel 5) with 95,940. Channel 8 led Channel 11 by nine-tenths of a ratings point, based on the percentage of households tuning in.

Channel 4, meanwhile, continued its domination of the morning shows — topping Channel 11 by almost 30,000 total viewers at 5 a.m. (77,680 to 47,820) and besting Channel 8 by almost 55,000 at 6 a.m. (135,020 to 85,580). In terms of ratings points, Channel 4 beat Channel 5 by nine-tenths of a point at 5 a.m. (2.6 to 1.7) and Channel 8 by 1.7 ratings points at 6 a.m.

At 5 p.m., Channel 5 moved into first, overtaking Channel 8, which led in February. Channel 5 averaged 107,400 total viewers, edging Channel 8 by just 3,910 viewers and one-tenth of a ratings point. Channel 4 was third in total viewers with 98,950, followed by Channel 11 with 91,410.

At 6 p.m., Channel 11 won in total viewers, but Channel 8 was the ratings champ. Channel 11 averaged 157,410, followed by Channel 8 with 153,960, Channel 5 with 114,660 and Channel 4 with 104,040. But in ratings points, Channel 8 edged Channel 5 by one-tenth of a point.
