Subject: Jeff Pegues

Sometimes life is bitter sweet. This is one of those moments. Our friend and colleague, Jeff Pegues is leaving Eyewitness News.  He’s turning in his Ch.7 mic for another job that he’s dreamed about his whole career. Jeff is going to be a correspondent for CBS News based in Washington, DC. All of Jeff’s family is in DC.  He also felt the need to be back home as his parents continue to age. Jeff has been at EWN since December 2003. He was always a nightside reporter, covering all kinds of stories for us for almost ten years. His engaging style on the screen and his warm heart behind the scenes will be so missed. It’s not every day that you get to work with someone who makes you smile every time you talk to him. As I said at the beginning of this email, life is bitter sweet. Bitter because we are losing a trusted friend, sweet because that trusted friend will soon be living out his dream. Jeff’s last day is June 28th. Congratulations to a great guy.

P.S. We will also being taking credit for the other star in the Pegues family, Jeff’s daughter, Jordyn. She started her reporting career here. Every year she did a story with her Dad on the balloons being blown up for the Thanksgiving Day Parade.  She’s only 11 and her career is already off to a wonderful start J
