The station had been looking at getting a new set for 2013 and a couple of weeks ago, they debuted the set on air.

The set is designed by Devlin Design Group and they wanted to make sure that WTVC's new set was very graphics driven with large back lit graphics along the perimeter of the entire set.

Dan Devlin says the set hasLED color changing lights are incorporated to provide a variety of colors and moods for their different newscasts.

To keep the set grounded there are elements of wood and stone mixed in with the acrylics and metals. The custom stone finish is reminiscent of the local Chattanooga Pier area. The set is definitely technology driven, the main feature being the large 2x6 video wall in the multi-purpose area, a 1x4 strip of monitors in the Weather Center.

With the rear projection screen added to the mix, they now have multiple venues to present breaking news and weather or for branding with logos and other graphics.
