The Smurfs are those lovable blue characters that kids and adults all love. 

It appears that fact hasn't been lost on WFLD in Chicago. During Friday night's newscast the station turned Reporter Craig Wall blue.

No word if turning Wall into a Smurf helped move the rating needle?

But hey, it's sweeps and station's will try anything.
