Tegna's Former Boss has Landed a New Gig
/When Tegna hired Michael Steib to be the company’s CEO, he came with no experience in local TV.
Steib was brought in to make cuts and make Tegna more attractive to a buyer. When Nexstar stepped up and bought the company, Steib quietly went away, but left a stain on the industry.
Now, he has landed another job, and to no one’s surprise it has nothing to do with television. It is also a struggling company, just as Tegna was. He takes over the digital home-improvement platform Angi Inc., which you likely know under its former name Angie’s List.
The company is tanking, with a stock price that is down nearly 60% this year alone.
It’s clear that Steib has been brought in to cut costs and likely try to tell the company before it is worth nothing.
He did it with Tegna, now it is his job again.
