Catching a WAVE out of Town

WAVE (Louisville) Anchor Olivia Russell is leaving the Gray station after just over 5 years.

Russell posted the news that she is leaving her hometown of Louisville, and it appears she is headed to the land of FTVLive, here in Orlando.

LIFE UPDATE:
After some of the most rewarding years of my career reporting and anchoring the news in my hometown, it’s time to say goodbye.
WAVE was the first newsroom I ever worked in as a college intern, and those role models I met in 2016 eventually became mentors and friends. We’ve had a lot of early mornings (and coffee) together.

Moving back home to Louisville five years ago also gave me some special moments with my family and friends. I got to host Soup Sunday in the winter, welcome my two beautiful nieces into the world, and coach softball on the same field I played on as a high schooler.

And lastly, to the community… thank you for welcoming me back with open arms. Without your support and trust, this next opportunity would not have been possible! Louisville will always have my heart ♥️

As for what’s next… let’s just say my cat wont be the only Mickey in town ☀️
