While Scripps has been chopping jobs left and right, they certainly are good at making up new management positions.

FTVLive has told you in the past about the Scripps role of “Executive Reporter”. It’s a job in which the station adds an older Reporter to teach the young inexperienced hires to report the news.

If this role sounds like something that the News Director, Assistant ND and the Managing Editor should be doing, well it is. But, I guess Scripps is overwhelmed with hiring young and cheap, that they now need more help.

At WPTV (West Palm), Weekend Anchor, MMJ Jon Shainman has been “promoted” to the role of “Executive Reporter” and will help train the kids.
