Not Even a Simple "Thank You"

Earlier this week, in a Patron Only story, FTVLive told you about WTVJ’s (Miami) new hire, Victoria De Cardenas.

De Cardenas had been working at WPEC in Palm Beach, and she also seemed to have a side gig as an influencer in which she pitched products.

FTVLive reported that De Cardenas had a couple of websites that are used by influencers. One called LTK is a site in which people can shop products that are pitched by influencers. De Cardenas even includes her height, clothing size, and shoe size on the site. I guess, in case a company might want to send some outfits or products her way.

FTVLive wondered if NBC was allowing their talent to also pitch products on the side. While, we sort of expected this from Sinclair (owner of WPEC) we pointed out that we thought NBC was better than that.

Well, after FTVLive’s story was posted, De Cardenas deleted her LTK page and her over 2,000 followers.

As for the other page that was pitching products, including her “CVS Faves”, well, it was highly edited and the product selling is gone.

Here is the before:

And here is the after:

After FTVLive did the digital background check that NBC should have done, you might have thought the network would reach out to FTVLive, and maybe thank us for pointing all this out.

They did not.

As for De Cardenas? She didn’t thank us either.

Still….our work continues.
