Nexstar's Executive Vice President is Leaving

Add another name to the list of Nexstar executives heading out the door.

Brett Jenkins, Nexstar’s Executive Vice President and Chief Digital and Technology Officer, is stepping down from full-time duties at the broadcasting giant effective October 1.

While Nexstar is officially framing the move as a "retirement," Jenkins isn’t cutting ties completely just yet. He will shift into the classic corporate holding pen known as the "executive adviser" role, consulting on select projects for CEO Perry Sook.

Jenkins originally landed inside the Nexstar empire back in 2017 following the company's buyout of Media General. Prior to that, he held top tech roles at LIN Media. In 2023, he was bumped up to run both tech and digital operations.

Now, his day-to-day duties and direct reports are being carved up and reassigned across the rest of the executive team. In other words, he’s leaving and not being replaced, that alone should tell you something.

Jenkins put on the expected happy face for the corporate press release, calling his decade at the company an "honor."
